Peanut butter is so easy to make. All you need is a good blender or food processor, some peanuts, and some peanut oil. It’s as simple as that! There is no need to buy a $4 jar of peanut butter when it will only last a week.
Well, in my house it would only last a week. Peanut butter is my favorite food.
I used to make peanut butter in my juicer. You can do this with an emulsion attachment, although the cleanup is messy and you need to add oil simultaneously.
For the peanut butter:
– 1 lb unsalted, shelled peanuts
– 2 Tbsp peanut oil (less or more oil if desired)
You can add 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp honey, or any additional ingredients that you might like. You can even add 1/2 cup chocolate chips to make chocolate peanut butter.
Blend the peanuts in a blender or food processor until they reach a fine texture. This will take about 2 minutes of straight blending. Pour the peanut oil into the food processor. Blend the ingredients until you get the consistency you desire. If, after 5 minutes, you do not have peanut butter to your liking, add another tablespoon of peanut oil and blend. Place in a clean, sanitized jar and enjoy!
